I just used the zip file from the first post. Unfortunately its in chinese, so I'm looking for an English version or a way to change the language

I found an english version. Just replaced the file in the zip from post 1 with the one called twrp_en.img from this one: TWRP EN/RU

so, I gave that a try and now my UMI doesn´t boot up at all. no matter what I do.

the only sign of life is, when pluggin in to a pc, it is listed as QHSUSB_bulk at Other Devices.

I think I have to give up and return the Phone.

Thank you for your sharing. I've translated the UI of this bi-lingual twrp installer to English (there's some stupidity, sorry) and replaced the original one with it.

You should press all the three buttons together to get into qdloader mode. Maybe almi can help you directly.
