Flash the V1.1_20170907 in firmware upgrade mode. Don't keep your user data, then that version won't slow down your phone.

OK, thanks or the tip.

However, before doing that, I would need to back up my user data... and restore it after the flashing.

If the User Data is the problem, how will this phone slugishness (which has decreased substancially since I installed 2017-07-xx) be solved, after resrtoration of the exact same data?

I'm lost here!

No, please don't try to backup and restore the old user data. Back up your files on an external storage, cloud or SD card if you have one installed in your phone, then just reinstall all your previous apps.

Sorry to bother again, but I've been fighting with my HP Elitebook 8740W Laptop Win7/64 for the last few days trying to get it to "see"
/ recognize my Z1 Pro (again), and let me do the flashing (among other things, like backing up my Data to Hard disk).

The "device connected" sound comes on, but my phone does not appear in Win Explorer.
Sometimes, it DOES show, but *NOT* its "Internal memory"... which makes it still useless.

I *DID* (try and) Uninstall / Install / reinstall the MTK / MTP drivers numerous times, using MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe.

What it does (on my system) is open a DOS cmd window.
A bunch of "Uninstall xxx" show up, but never seems to stop, like on a merry go round (as the same "Uninstall" command lines keep showing up) !
If I do Ctrl+C (after a while), it closes the cmd window, Installer tells me to reboot Computer (which I do), but still no go :-(

In Device Manager :
Portable Devices / Z1 Pro displays a yellow mark, and «This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.»

BUT... In the Driver Tab, the "Update Driver" is greyed...
How nice, huh?

Any Suggestions, before I throw this laptop out the window?
