This is the SP Flash Tool release of the
V1.1_20170721 (Android 7.0) system software
for UMIDIGI Z1 Pro

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!
UMIDIGI Z1 Pro receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

Changelog:
  • Optimized camera interface
  • Optimized camera PDAF focus
  • Displaying MEID removed

SP Flash Tool
Resources:

Flashtool tutorials: UMI Forum or androidxda guide or YouTube guide (you can google a lot of other solutions and guides)

ROM: >>>>> 20170721_p15v57c2k_kw_u52a.rar <<<<< - Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6757_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 already automatically can install it or you can use this: MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI Z1 Pro if the standard method doesn't work.
It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop
1. Connect your UMIDIGI Z1 Pro to USB.
2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.
3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.
4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

While we wait for them to fix the camera there are a couple of things we can do. Using something like OpenCamera to capture photos and something like Lightroom to fix the exposure and color levels. I've been able to capture some acceptable images using those two apps. It doesn't solve most shots since they are so overexposed and noisy that most of the details are too far gone to save but it's something until they hopefully release an update to handle this issue.

After that update bricked my Z1 Pro, I refused to flash it back. I reverted back to V1.1_20170703
...

If you just flash the latest update through your PC everything will be fine. I first updated my phone trough OTA which bricked (made my screen turn greyish after a few seconds) my phone. After that I flashed it via my PC and it workes fine again.

You don't have to press any button, just connect your phone to USB. By pressing only the power button you block your phone to switch into preloader mode. Try again without pressing any button. You can keep your user data if you uncheck the userdata partition before starting the flashing process. However, that's okay if you just update your system but not recommended if you want to repair a bad working software.

Will there be a 7.1.X ROM soon, like on the Z Pro?

My display started misbehaving after installing the latest update earlier today. A few seconds after the phone has started the display turns teal. I still get notifications in the background so I know the phone is still "working".
Anyone know what to do? Did this happen to anyone else?
Do I have to flash the device?

The Z Pro was upgraded from Android 6.0. 8.0 is possible in the future, but the Z1 Pro or any other models with Android 7.0 system wil not receive 7.1.x upgrade.

Yes. I suggest you to flash your phone with SP Flash Tool. If nothing changes, please share a photo of your scsreen or even a video would be better.

Same problem here with a couple of phones. The phone was working nice but the screen became a mess right after the update.

In the original post it said to keep the power button pressed, but you need to keep the power button pressed AND the volume button down at the same time. Otherwise it will not start to flash. And I just flashed the phone and it works fine again. But keep in mind: You lose all your stuff on your phone! It is as if you got a new phone out of the factory.
