You mustn't ignore the proper driver installation. Maybe I shouldn't mention but extract the MT65x3 USB VCOM drivers.zip file before using its content. Forget about the 32-bit Win7 and try in the 64-bit Win10. Instal the drivers by running the InstallDriver.exe file. If you're still unsuccessful, open your Windows device manager, connect your powered off phone to USB (don't press any button of it) and if you see an unknown device to pop up, immediately right click on it and update its drivers manually. You can brows fro the drivers folder and Windows will find the proper drivers in it.
