low microphone volume and dampened/distorted voice

Hi,
I have a problem with volume of microphone in my UMIDIGI G, people with whom I speak on the phone complain about low volume and dampened/distorted voice. I hear the callers not too bad but a bit low comparing to my old smarthpone.
I am using the default installed application. I try calling using WhatsApp and through it the quality of the conversation on caller side is significant better so it is not a hardware problem, i think.
Any idea what could cause a problem and how to resolve it?
In this case, the phone is not useful for the basic function and i would have to return it to seller.

See the post about the ROM updates, I believe one mentions the speaker. Before updating your device read through the threads in this forum as some contain good advice about how to go about updating your device. I've flashed both updates and had to reinstall all my apps etc due to not knowing an important tip. This may help the speaker issue somewhat, but it's obviously not an expensive device.

Thank your for your advice, but I've just install all available ROM updates and unfortunately it didn't change anything
Yeah, I know this is a basic model but why the quality of sound transmitted to the caller is acceptable while using WhatsApp? I've tried other, than default installed, application to making call but also without effect.

I have the same problem with my newly purchased UMIDIGI G, very disappointing with such a fundamental feature. Surely this must be a number one priority for a ROM software fix?
