This is the SP Flash Tool + OTA release of the
V1.2_20170703 firmware
for UMIDIGI C NOTE

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!
UMIDIGI C NOTE receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

Changelog:
  • Optimized power consumption (about 15% less battery power consumed by the Android 7.0 system)
  • Wrong battery capacity reported by hardware analysing apps fixed

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SP Flash Tool
Resources:
Flashtool tutorials: UMI Forum or androidxda guide or YouTube guide (you can google a lot of other solutions and guides)

>>>>> ROM: mt6737n_n383bt_u41aa_kewei_cc_20170703-215141.rar <<<<< - Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6737T_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 already automatically can install it or you can use this: MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI C NOTE if the standard method doesn't work.
It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop
1. Connect your UMIDIGI C NOTE to USB.
2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.
3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.
4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OTA (recovery) update
Manual (local) OTA update method instructions
  • Copy the downloaded .zip file to either the internal memory or the SD card of your phone
  • Go to Settings --> About phone --> Wireless update
  • Tap the 3-dot menu button at the top right corner and select Local updates
  • Brows for the ...update.zip file and select it
  • Tap Install now, comfirm the process with OK and wait until the process will be finished

>>>>> Update file for manual OTA update: UMIDIGI_C_NOTE_V1.2_20170703_update.zip <<<<<

Optional method (in case if the manual OTA update gets stuck): Install from recovery
You need a microSD card (with at least 4GB capacity) installed in your phone!
  • Copy the ...update.zip file to your SD card
  • Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts in the boot selector mode. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less if your phone was already powered off.
  • Here you can move with the vol-up button and select an item with vol-down. Select Recovery.
  • Your phone reboots into Recovery and you see a lying android figure with an exclamation mark in red triangle on its tummy.
  • Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to call the recovery menu. Now you can move with the volume buttons and select an item with the power button.
  • Move to ‘Apply update from SD card’ and select it.
  • On the next screen brows for the update file and select it. The updating process will start and needs a few minutes to be finished.
  • After a succcessful installation you can read the ''Install from sdcard complete'' message and the receovery menu is available again.
  • Select 'Reboot system now'. Alternatively you can perform a factory data reset here by choosing 'Wipe data/factory reset'

Kind request from users:
Please report any kind of new issues you experience after installing this update only if you've already flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. In rare cases a FOTA update can cause more or less serious malfunctions but that means only the update process went wrong, not a badly developed ROM. An updated stock ROM, especially related to the basic functions will not cause any new issues but will solve some of the existing ones.

Edited by 62vette at 2017-7-8 00:42 \n\n**PLEASE IGNORE**  It is a dialer issue, I think not related to update!
Hi
When I get an incoming call my screen stays all black and I cannot answer the call.
When I open the screem, I still cannot accept the call.

There was no issue before this update.

I would like to ask - can I make an OTA with this, when my latest rom is dated back to May 2017,and my recovery is TWRP, not a stock anymore?
Will it brick my phone or made some weird stuff?

hi team....
Can you tell me if this update also contains the previous one?

The camcorder of the camera driver I think is very important and important, why is it not released via fota?

Ciao Andrea, hai ragione, ho invertito le rom, comunque credo che l'ultima abbia tutto, almeno la patch di sicurezza e il kernel, quindi immagino anche il resto.

Sicuramente va molto meglio, piu stabile e consuma molto meno batteria.

They do not say it in the change log. We hope ...... I do not believe. The camera driver is too important .... security patch as well  Post time 2017-7-11 05:16

Edited by buczubuczu at 2017-7-12 03:26 \n\nHello there. Newest OTA update is impossible to install - regardless of way of installing it, or the used app.

In freshly made system, dated back to last update (May 2017), which DOES NOT have TWRP installed, installing it from local storage gets error and no further data.
In freshly made system (as mentioned above), with TWRP 3.1.1.0 for C Note installed, patch overwrite boot (I think), and force phone to go into TWRP. Regardless of chosen option to restart or reboot, phone returns in recovery. Wiping does not give any effect.
When I've tried to install it using TWRP (clean system from May, then custom recovery), program gives error number 7.

Package has been downloaded from your link 3 times, using RJ-45 connection to Internet. Also, wireless OTA has been downloaded before to my phone and unpacked there.

None of these methods worked. My phone forced me (or was it opposite) to make hard reset and port it all over again.
Something is wrong - either with the file itself, or with the link.
I was downloading OTA wireless using 4G network, NOT my Wi-Fi.

Does anyone else got the same issue?

/E
also, when rebooting after failed attempt, ALL APPS are not responding and forcing itselves to shut down, whenever I'm trying to reach it. WTF?
