That's another problem! When I want to show this issue, there is no way to force it! The phone dec ...

A UMI representative told me that yesterday, the running out of free RAM caused by too many background apps (she talked about too many installed apps) can cause the ghost touch issue. This explenation sounds completely pointless for me, but you might check it. Miracles can happen.

Edited by abelnorchis at 2015-10-18 15:26 \n\nHow can I try to reduce memory usage? I don't want to uninstall my APPS...Is there a memory manager that can be used? Actually, I hate memory managers, but if you know about one that is light and efficient, please let me know.

I have the ghost touch issues on my Emax on an almost daily basis to some extent.  Here are my observations:

- Only the keyboard is effected, for example apps which use the rest of the screen seem to be okay.
- Rebooting the phone solves the issue for up to a day
- Turning the phone horizontal usually solves the issue for a while

In addition, I was recently on holiday in Turkey, where the temperature was 32c.  During the 2 weeks I was there the problem never occurred, but happened within an hour of getting back to the UK.

I therefore think there are 2, possibly more, separate problems.  The ribbon cable may be causing problems with some phones, but I think there is also a software issue and possibly something to do with the screen sensitivity or static charges.

For me, if keeping the phone stationery but rebooting it solves the problem that indicates it is not a ribbon cable issue, do people agree?

I already used my eMAX in many temperature conditions between 5-38°C but the ghost touch issue has never occured. So that's obviously not software related, or all phones running the same version would be affected.
As we talked about that here, the source of the problem is probably an insulation defection caused by uncareful assembling. The worse if the screen itself is defective, since that cannot be mended, but replaced only.

Edited by steve0b at 2015-10-20 01:50 \n\nTry SGS screen booster via the app store and change the sensitivity settings when the issue occurs..... The reason for the problem mainly appearing when using the keyboard is because 9 times out of 10 touching the keyboard area when typing (centre of the keyboard - slightly to the left) causes the ghost touch which is in the centre/right side of the screen so depending on what part of the touch screen you are using you may not be always getting this issue. If you go into settings and developer options you can get the phone to show your touch's which makes it easy to see when/where they occur. Personally still think its software myself!!!

I am also affected by this problem. It does not appear very often, but when it does it can be pretty persistent and annoying. Usually cleaning the screen multiple times solves the issues.

Don't know if I'm right, but, as suggested by bencebacsi, maybe the problem could be "the running out of free RAM caused by too many background app". Yesterday and today, I  tried to keep clean the ram, by closing all apps from the  task manager once end to use that. At the monment, I can confirm no more ghost touch. The test continue.

Interesting experience. Next time if you get the ghost touch issue again, you should check the amount of free RAM at that moment.

Edited by abelnorchis at 2015-10-20 16:12 \n\nOk, guys, wrong way. The issue happens also when the task manager is completely empty of apps. But I notice that: when the issue appeared, I pressed the Home button, enter the task manager, return to the app and the issue was disappeared. My next try is to enter task manager and exit and see what happens.  Obviously I have to wait the ghot touch appears again.

Try sgs screen booster, adjust your sensitivity settings and apply. Since I've been using it not had any issues but not sure if this is down to luck or if this actually works.....?
