I'm experiencing ghost touch problems too...Expecially using the keyboard.
During first month I can report no issues. Only sometimes, a couple of ghost touches.
During last week, problems are more than triplicate. The problem is present every 2 SMS, Whatsapp, or google search that I do. Reset phone to factory default, didn't solve. When I'm in a hurry, and I can't make mistakes, the only method that works is to rotate the phone and write with the horizontal keyboard.
By the way, I will test the phone without the back transparent cover for a couple of days (I bought the original UMI back cover and received about 1-2 week ago). In my opinion this cover increase the amount of static electricity, due to his plastic material wich that's build. I also note that 2 people, on youtube, with the same problems, have the back cover mounted!! And least but not last, when I was using a cutted back cover of a Galaxy Note 3 (that wasn't fit perfectly but fit), I have less problems.
E-max Followers, stay tuned!

This is a hardware issue where it isnt assembled properly, so the screen isnt grounded correctly.  Mine is fine, but its because they dont test them properly, just turn them on and check the functions are working.  They are not soak tested or anything, hence why so many people see issues with different umi phones.  Its not only Umi either.  Its a lot of chinese phones that arent tested properly.  Here in the UK and europe you can return them for hardware problems for 2 years, and manufacturers know this.  China has no such laws

Ghost touch problem persist even if I don't use the protection cover. So you suggest me to return the phone to the seller? I bought it from an italian reseller site that give 2 years of warranty. I will contact them...

...maybe. The problem is not so critical, it's a sporadic event and I believe that, if  I'll send back the phone to the seller, it could happen that it function perfectly and they return  it to me as it was before. I don't have time to waste.
To be honest, videos on youtube that showing the ghost touch, are explicative about a great problem that my phone don't have. My phone is not in so bad conditions.

yes if you are getting ghost touches, you should return it.  It is only going to get worse over time.  There Should be a grounding pin somewhere on the screen that will make contact with the ground on the pcb.  If this doesnt touch, then the screen will have a floating ground, and any static wont discharge causing this issue.

Oops, I don't know where did you get that info from. In fact the opposite is the truth.
: the touch panel should be perfectly insulated from the ground. Probably a gap of the insulation disturbs the electric field generated by the capacitive surface of the touch panel.

I repeat: the problem is less worse then what I have seen on youtube. Is sporadic and basicly accetable.
After all, I have two years warranty and, if the problem increases, I can return the phone when i want.

I have the same ghost problems on my emax. It is really annoying typing the sms. The only solution is to turn it around on horizontal keyboard, but still with problems that could be little bit corrected with a spell checher. I tried to solve this problem out to find the path of the apperiance, but I couldn't so the best name is ghost typing problem. I do not what to do. Should I return it to the Banggood or use it as it goes. Shame for UMI that they have shiped a phone with such a problem!
