I want to say something positive about my Android N version which runs very well. Its a nice step foward from 6.0. Battery life is now longer than before, especially in standby. Camera has to be improved in future in terms of image quality. Why the engineers aren't able to implement auto focus in video is not really reasonable. In "Open Camera" it works perfectly. Why does this work? The X27 brings the auto focus for video by itself.
If this would be fixed and the image quality the Z Pro would be one of the best handsets for this money.

Quick post about my upgrade to 7.1.1. first I use it over wifi only since it doesn't work with my carrier. I installed over OTA and had no issues. It's been running smoothly with none of the issues others are describing. Battery life is way better. Haven't tested the camera yet but will soon. For my use so far so good. Will update my post if I run across any issues. At the moment I'm happy with it and looking forward to the next update.

Yes, I can confirm the auto focus issue while recording video and not even each third party app can ...

Apparently elephon has the same problem with its p9000 regarding the camera and his helio p10. LG uses a qualcom processor and has no problem with its imx 258 (in any case, not as much as us)

It is time for mediatek to pull out the fingers of the nostrils and we finally come out of drivers worthy of a manufacturer of processors

Edited by chooks06 at 2017-6-12 18:08 \n\nTo the engineers, thanks for the work on 7.1.1.
I've taken the OTA, then after a day, I reset, the phone.
Then after another day, I flashed a "clean" version using SPFT.
Overall, I observe the same as what others have reported on the camera - to me, seems that the camera behaved better on Android 6.0.

The main hang up I have is that the battery life seems worse. Phone doesn't go to sleep until after a long while. From 100% it can drop to 88% with less than 30 minutes SoT. It also seems that it can only go to sleep when the battery is below 80% and left untouched for at least 45 minutes (a general observation, didn't capture screenshot).
Sometimes, it goes to sleep just like when it was in 6.0.

With previous OS, it's either almost 6 hours SoT in 24 hours or 3 hours SoT in 48 hours, with 8 hours switched off/airplane mode.

Did I miss any setting? Some users have reported improved battery life.

Also, what is the default setting for "SPORTS" & "NORMAL" mode? Can't the user set up personal preferences?

I also missed the "Auto Start Up Manager" - can this be provided?

The "Dura speed" is an app updated via Play Store. Why was it baked in?

Overall, other than this few issues, I think the engineers have done a reasonably good job given the pressure.

For those who want to try a different launcher, check out the Asus launcher (no, I'm not a fanboy) - has its drawbacks but gives me the option to resize icons, folder icons size and colour, plus other options. Full optimization only on Asus handsets.

Just my feedback. Thanks again for the hard work.

My feedback after installig OTA 7.0 on this phone

1- Battery life is not improved
2-rebooting randomly
3-camera quality poor
4- factory reset, reset using recovery & even clean install does not solve the issue

So overall thumbs down as phone is not stable after this update

It might be quite good if someone from UMIDIGI assumes responsibility
and says something about the problems mentioned.

@ UMIDIGI

How is Android 7 going on?

Does anyone work on solving these problems?

Can some of the problems be solved by modifying Z Pro settings?

When can UMIDIGI offer a working update?
