Hey y'all,
I've been researching the upcoming Umidigi Crystal for the past couple hours and I cannot figure out whether or not it will work with 3g on AT&T in the United States.
As seen here, the phone supports bands 2 and 5 (1900 and 850mhz, respectively.) However, what confuses me is that the website lists these bands under GSM and has a separate section for WCMDA, which it lists as requiring bands 8 and 1 (900 and 2100mhz.)
I was under the impression that WCDMA is a type of GSM technology. FrequncyCheck lists bands 2 and 5 as UMTS, which is the same as WCDMA, for all intents and purposes, correct? So, why are these bands listed as GSM while bands 8 and 1 are listed as 3g/WCDMA? If the Umidigi Crystal supports GSM bands 2 and 5, will I be able to at least get HSPA+ speeds on it?
Sorry for how wordy this is; I wanted to be as thorough as possible. Thanks for any insight you can provide!

My GPS is not working too. With "GPS Status" it test the signal.
The Crystal can find many satellites very quickly, but the device can not find my position (the signal of each satellite is 0).
After reset the AGPS data and reload the data, no change. The same issue.

I can't use the Crystal for navigate in the car. useless. sorry. I hope for a fix!

Hello from Romania! This is my first post on this forum. I am waitting for my 4 GB Umi Crystal to arrived from Gearbest. Reading this forum shows me that I have made a bad choice choosing this phone. One of the main reason to change my phone was faulty GPS on my Lenovo. So...I spend 140$ just for a good looking smartphone. Smart choice indeed!

1. Big problem with GPS, cannot get fix at all. Means no gps (glonass) detected. Seems many people got the same problem.
2. Wifi signal is very weak.
3. Bluetooth lose connection within 3m.

I HOPE THIS IS NOT MY LAST UMIDIGI PHONE. Please release a fix OTA for these soon. TQ.

While I CAN get a GPS fix it is slow to get a fix and, while driving, will often 'jump' to a different location (up to 500m distance from real location).
GPS is OK outdoors away from buildings and trees while stationary or moving slowly but struggles under trees, among buildings or indoors (next to a window) - my old Doogee phone (Y100 pro) with much lower spec works quite well in these situations.
My previous Umi Touch had terrible GPS performance, my Crystal is not as bad as that was but could be a lot better.
I have not noticed problems with wi-fi, 4G or bluetooth.

I have also suffered from inconsistent GPS positioning, and could see myself jumping up and down the road several hundred meters at a time without actually moving.

However, today I installed the TopNTP app (which I found on another forum), and since then according to GPS Status, I can lock onto about 8 out of 18 satellites within 30 seconds. Now when I look at Google Maps, I am rock solid and shown in my exact correct position.

I have to say that this is in the outdoors, and once inside the house, the sats are dropped, but my old TomTom did this as well.

Give it a try, you have nothing to lose !

My compass now also works accurately, after I realised that I needed to calibrate it whilst it was in a horizontal position, not vertical, as that is how I hold it when looking at the compass !
