- VCOM drivers: Windows 10 can automatically install it. Please make sure that your Windows is logged in with administrator rights and your computer has a working internet connection when first time connecting your phone.
- SN Writer TEE Tool with vturkey tool - Select the version that fits your phone:
F1 and F1 Play EU: SNWrier_1828-4.0.0-vturkey_F1_EEA.rar
F1 and F1 Play non EU: SNWrier_1828-4.0.0-vturkey_F1_nonEEA.rar
S3 Pro EU: SNWrier_1828-4.0.0-vturkey_S3Pro_EEA.rar
S3 Pro non EU: SNWrier_1828-4.0.0-vturkey_S3Pro_nonEEA.rar

Let's get started step by step
(the driver installation process will be skipped in this tutorial since a Windows 10 PC connected to the internet can automatically install the compatible drivers)
You have to power off your phone before Step 8.!
- Brows for the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file and open it in a text editor.
Add 116.62.230.138 pl.trustkernel.com to the end of the list of hosts, then save the hosts file. If you are not allowed to save it locally, first save it in an other location, then copy the new one by overwriting the original file.
(, Downloads: 3318) UploadClick on the file to download the attachment- Extract and open the folder of SNWrier_1828-4.0.0-vturkey, then open the application by double clicking SN Writer.exe.
- Click the System Config button, then select all items that you can see checkmarked below.

You may uncheck the IMEI and MEID Options and keep only one item (as your choice) selected in the Write Options if your only target is to recover your Google certificate.
- Click the Save button.
- Enable AutoGen as shown on the picture below, then select the same items you selected on the System Config page except IMEI, since you need to enter your original IMEIs and MEID manually. (BT and Wifi addresses will be auto generated)

- In the pop-up window, enter your original(!) IMEI_1, IMEI_2 and MEID numbers, then click OK.

.- Connect your (powered off) phone to USB, without pressing any buton.
The writing process will start automatically while your phone is switching into META mode.

Troubleshooting: If the process gets stuck at this point what the screenshot shows above (Start searching kernel...), disconnect the USB cable for a few seconds, then reconnect it and the process will continue. If the flashing process still fails, start again the flashing but leave your phone connected. Press and hold the power button until the flashing process starts, then release it.
- After the writing process finished, you get the following screen, reporting the successful operation, and your phone automatically switches into charging mode.

Now you are DONE and may power on your phone.
Congratulations!
In case of a bad connection, not properly installed drivers or if something other trouble happens, you get the following screen.

Check your USB cable, use another USB port, when the phone switched to META mode, check your Windows device manager to see if a new serial port is correctly installed.
After reboot your phone, check the new IMEI and MEID numbers in Settings --> System --> Advanced --> About phone.

Hello everyone, I read in other forums that you can suppress the message of "unloked" in the UMIDIGI F1 after unlocking the Bootloader.
My question is this, If it is true that such a tool exists and I believe that if it exists, someone can provide me the link to download it.
I would also be interested to know if eliminating that message has other consequences.

I have a F1 Play and after restoring the imei numbers with the standart SN Writer, I have a red warning text on the upper corner of the screen. I tried the special vturkey version of the SN Writer but it gives "TEE PL Failed with -19" error. People mentioned that F1 (not Play) 2019013016 rom works with vturkey, so I copied the tee.img file and flashed from that rom. This time vturkey worked and showed green color but fingerprint sensor stopped working since F1 and F1 Play probably have different sensors. Also the red text did not disappear even after some time waiting. So I switched back to the original tee.img of the F1 Play, fingerprint sensor is working again but the red text is still on my screen. Any help is appreciated.

I solved the problem with Umidigi F1 Play, IMEI and Certificates. Here are the steps I followed:
1) F1 Play roms and some later F1 roms do not work with the special version of the SN Writer program (vturkey version) mentioned in the first post. As some other people reported before, you have to use F1 (not Play) rom version 2019013016 (even for F1 Play).
2)Download the F1 version 2019013016 ROM and for F1 Play users download also a F1 Play ROM. I used 2019042520 F1 Play version.
3) F1 users can neglect this step and directly flash 2019013016 ROM from SP Flash tools as normal. F1 Play owners must do a trick. Open SP flash tools and select the scatter file for the F1 Play ROM that you downloaded and extracted previously. In my case this was 2019042520 F1 Play ROM. But since this rom does not work with SN writer, we will replace the contents from the F1 2019013016 ROM. To do that, keep the preloader of the 2019042520 F1 Play ROM the same, we will not change this. Replace all other files from the F1 2019013016 ROM. You can click the location section in SP flash tools and browse to the F1 version 2019013016 ROM folder and select the appropriate file. Then flash as you normally do. Switch to download mode and plug the phone while you are pressing the upper volume key.
4) After flashing the rom turn on the phone and do the initial android setup. I did not turn on wifi initially and skipped steps. But I created a fingerprint (I am not sure this was necessary). After seeing the android home screen, I entered my wifi password and connected (again I am not sure this was necessary). I also entered my google account. At this point a rom update may be downloaded, just cancel it. The red ugly warning text will be there, do not worry. The back camera and some other things may not work but do not worry this is normal for F1 Play owners since we are essentially using a F1 Rom. We will flash a F1 Play Rom later. After waiting few minutes I turned off my phone.
5) Now we can start with SN Writer (vturkey) special version. Download it from the link in the first post of this thread. Extract and follow the steps described in the first post. Select your IMEI, MEID etc. Press upper volume button for a few seconds and release while connecting the usb cable. After the steps, this time you will see the green text.
6) Turn on the phone. The ugly red warning text should have gone. Well done! Turn off the phone if you are F1 Play owner.
7) For F1 Play users, you have to download and flash a recent F1 Play ROM as you normally do as a last step. You can use the F1 Play rom that you previously downloaded (in my case this was 2019042520 version). Flash it and enjoy your phone!

Need help - I have an error using SNWriter (Umidigi F1 Play). I have spent 2 weeks and can't fix it so I'm trying this guide.
I have null IMEI so my phone won't work (Wifi and Bluetooth and apps all work), need SNWriter to fix it.
I can use SPFlash tool perfectly.
But when using SNWriter - both version 1.1828.0.0-Tee-v4000 or latest 1.1916.00 - I get this error
FAIL - SmartPhoneSN::- APSwithToModemMeta_Ex() : Switch to MODEM meta from AP meta fail.
EDIT - I now get error -23 like the user Faysoft posted above. "TEE PL Failed with -23 ". I have read all the logs but can't understand what the problem is.
What does this error mean?
Can anybody help? My brand new phone is useless without SIM card and IMEI.

Sorry but your "tutorial" is completely a misconception with many wrong statements and conclusions. You need to just strictly(!) follow the instructions in the first post and it will work. It's very important to download that version matching with the software version on your phone.
The software of the F1 and F1 Play is perfectly compatible (the fingerprint scanner and everything), except the back camera setup. You can use this tool on any version but you must use the EU version for EU version phones and vice versa.
You were just simply lucky after many attempts with wrong methods but your tutorial is nothing about a solution. I recommend you to rather delete your post.

1. Flash the latest stock ROM in firmware upgrade mode on your phone, not a custom shit or anything, and do not change anything on it.
2. Re-lock the bootloader if you've unlocked it.
3. Choose the appropriate SN Writer TEE version that fits your phone model and region - EU or non-EU.

Hello. before, I could manage to change IMEI by secret codes such as *#*#08#*#* . but I can't change on my new F1 Play ( non eu version ). This secret code works out,it opens the page where I can write down the IMEI numbers. but although I save and it says that it succesfully change the IMEI, it doesn't change in fact. I worked the second time, as I had managed to recover the imeis repeated the process only by checking two options, the bluetooth option and the wifi option and configuring it as advised in this post to be generated automatically, if done correctly , the red letters will disappear, they took away my f1 play.

I have tried using the SN Writer multiple times and my Windows machine always says the USB device couldn’t be recognized. I can use SP Flash Tool (if I hold the Power and Vol +) with no worries. I’ve installed the drivers as specified, but still no dice.
I have an F1 Play and mistakenly wiped my NVRAM partition yesterday when trying to clean up to install the newest OTA. Suggestions would be very welcome at this point.

I have successufully restored my 2 IMEIs code for the sim card slots through the generic SN Write tool following the old guide for all the devices, this guide give me problems when I try to restore my IMEIs on my Umidigi f1 play (EU) even following strictly all the steps.
My main problem is restoring google certificate and MEID. Using SN Write I can enter only 14 characters for the MEID but on my phone's box there are 15 characters for it.
Can you please help out with this problem?

Put only the first 14 characters in. The 15 character is a check digit and you don't need to put in. Later when you restored you MEID you gonna see you have again the same 15 characters.

NON_EAA S3 Pro fixed TEE and Google red text warnings gone.
If your like me the red text has been very very annoying. I was actually looking to see about buying another phone on the sale 11.11.
I kept using the special SN Writer and kept geting the error "TEE PL Failed with -19" no matter what verision I tired. I even tried using SPFT to download the TEE.img from different roms no success. (mentioned in another thread to make a difference)
My solution came by accident; I used SPFT to flash the EAA_20190708 version onto my S3. Im in the US so I am aware that this is not my ROM. Once successful I used the special SN writer for EAA_S3pro and selected the files for MD and AP. Only selected wifi in config with autogen option. (Did not bother with IMEI's as it has been failing for me for 3 weeks). and I finally got the successful/pass notification on SN Writer.
Booted the phone and immediately noticed no more red TEE and Google....YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
used SN writer again to restore IMEI's and MEID (plenty examples of how to do that if you haven't done that already). But this time on SN writer under Options uncheck TEE support.
By now you should be familiar enough to go ahead and reflash your phone with the proper latest ROM for your region.
Best of luck everyone. Im very happy with this phone, looking to buy another phone because of this i was disappointed to see that without paying more than i did for this phone this is still a great deal. The new F2 is basically the same phone with 3 more cameras. Hopefully the S4 pro improves on that with the addition of an AMOLED screen.

I tried it about ten times and it didn't work.
Always got this annoying "TEE PL failed with -19"-message (like others here too). Don't know what this means. But then I looked for another SN-Writer-version and so I installed the latest one (v1.1916.00) and SURPRISE...suddenly it worked and I could read "PASS", yeah.
Now I can see my real IMEI again on my phone but the red annoying Tee and Google text is still on my screen.
Asking myself if it's due to missing one number in my MEID (it just has 14 instead of 15 numbers because you just can insert 14 with SN-Writer).
So next step: Get rid off this horrible big letters and don't stop trying...

I'm in the same position, with the TEE PL failed -19 message. I have tried many different versions of SN Write Tool and also flashed various ROMs, including the Euro ROM previously mentioned. My phone has been like this since October and I feel my options have been exhausted. Thanks to everyone for the information they've provided
I've also tried connecting the phone through Maui Meta Version 10 software. It will always fail at "Connect to MD" step.
I've tried using different USB ports, USB data cables. Re-locked the OEM bootloader.

Honestly with SN Writer v1.1916 I just were successful in restoring my IMEI and MEID but the 'red text problem' still exists.
Would be a big help if Bencebacsi could tell us what this "TEE PL Failed -19 Error" is about.

I start SN Writer turkey version (in my case the european one) and do the settings like recommended.

Now I connect my powered off phone via usb to the PC. I hear the 'connection noise' and after about one second the 'disconnection noise'.
The program now says 'Start searching kernel com port and handshake...'

(now sometimes the phone switches to Meta-Mode, sometimes it doesn't...nevertheless, the following result is the same)

I ran SN Writer successfully to program imei and meid etc. -- can see that from settings. Phone appears to work properly, but the big ugly red text "TEE: 未激活 Google: 未激活" is still there. I tried flashing the ROM again, tried locking the bootloader, the red text is still there. Anyone any idea? Thanks,

Yes, I did. SN writer works fine, the IMEI id's are programmed into the phone and I can read it in settings. Phone works too. Just the ugly text sticks.

So i did even disable my Avira program and Nothing helped.
Now it worked !

Hi, Your screenshot has a very low resolution, it's just partially readable but it must be a connection or driver issue. You need to work on a Windows 10 computer with administrator rights and connected to the internet. Also try to use another USB cable and USB port on your computer.

For those having trouble with this:
I too had nonstop problems. I was able to write IMEI's, BT, etc., but only when I checked off the Tee Support. But the red text in the top right remained.
I then decided the hosts file was the problem. It saves it as a txt document. I downloaded Hosts File Editor as I wanted to save it like it originally was (as "file" but with the plkernel info found in the OP's post). When I saved it to desktop, then pasted it to the etc folder file, and then tried the SN Writer tool, IT FINALLY WORKED.
I even formatted the phone again (not recommended of course) with the SP Flash Tool, then tried the SN Writer to write the IMEI, BT, Wi-Fi back again. It worked on the first try, and no red text! Hope this helps.

He lost the original box.
Now I don´t have the Imei 1 the Imei 2 and the Meid.
Is there a way to get the original values?

I'm sorry but no, there's no way to recover your original IMEI and MEID without knowing them. The only copy was on the factory box.

I also formatted and flashed accidentally the ROM. When trying to recover the mishap, I got fail with TEE-PL error 19 numerous times. Although I bought the F1 with European (EEA) ROM I have tried then the SN Writer for non European ROM. It worked the right away.
Many people who buy their F1 in Europe will get actually non European Google licensed devices with EEA ROM through the various Chinashops in Europe. So the licensing server will check for EEA credentials on the device. If not found properly SN Writer will deliver error 19 and fail message. If non European version of the SN Writer is used you should get a PASS message. I also used in addition the APDB file from the EEA version for compatibility purpose.
Most likely reason: Licensing fees to Google are probably different (lower !?!) for Non European devices. As usual it´s all about the money. That´s why the identical phone is about 50 Euros cheaper in Asia.

Finally I make it Pass. Make sure ( use WordPad to modified it) the file hosts when add to end off the file 116.62.230.138 pl.trustkernel.com
look like this:
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
116.62.230.138 pl.trustkernel.com
After replace Host file open it to see if it has the # in front of the last line, if it has "#" it is not good and will fail when flashing.

It worked perfectly, except I suggest a change to instructions.
After stage 5 where you enable autogen, another window pops up before you get a chance to hit start. I had to tick, or select whatever I was going to input at stage 7.
Then go to instruction 6.
Then 7.
Hit start.
Restart phone, immediately .
RED TEE Activation, and Red Google Activation message is gone.

I know this is an old post, hoping the original poster is still active. Anyone have any ideas of obtaining the IMEI information for my F1 Play? Got wiped using SPFT and showing the TEE/Google red banners. I see the tool here for reinputting them into the device, but I just don't have the numbers recorded anywhere. I never backed them up, and lost the box years ago. I figure I'm out of luck, but just wanted to ask if somebody with inside knowledge may know if there still stored internally or be able to pull via a tool by serial?, thanks for any ideas!

Hi guys, finaly I was able to fix the annoying red letters on umidigi S3 pro.
First you open notepad and run as admin. In notepad Click all files, files, open, pc, C drive, windows ,system32 ,drivers, etc, host. Open that file and add new host at the end of the line. (116.62.230.138 pl.trustkernel.com) and save it. Extract the SNWrier to the desktop, inside de SNWrier folder extract the firmware. Open the folder SNWrier then open the application by double clicking SN Writer. Click the system config check imie, bt address, wifi address, meid and dual IMEI. Click MD1_DS choose desktop SN Writer folder open firmware and add MDDB.META_MT6771_SOO_MOLLY_LR12A____ now click AP_DB choose APDB_MT6771_SO1_W1921 from the firmware. In Log dir select desktop SNWrier. Click save bottom. Add your IMEI and meid #
Turn you phone off and press Start. Bingo !!!!.
