UMi Zero 2 Will Sport A 20MP Camera, Two Displays
UMi has released a really interesting smartphone lately, the UMi Iron. This device has been available for pre-order for quite some time now, and was supposed to ship about a week or two ago. Unfortunately, UMi has faced some delays and the device will ship on August 15th. The UMi Iron sports 3GB of RAM, MT6753 64-bit octa-core SoC, 1080p display, metal build, etc. Despite all of this, this smartphone is quite affordable, and the device we’ll talk about in this article will probably be very affordable as well, read on.

The UMi Zero was this company’s flagship in 2014, and they’ve teased the arrival of its successor earlier this month. We still don’t know when will the UMi Zero 2 see the light of day, but it seems like we’re looking at a dual-screen smartphone here. UMi’s previously released teaser was quite obvious and has showed both the regular display, and the EPD display (E-Ink technology) which will be included on the back. UMi Zero 2 will join the likes of Yotaphone 1 and 2, and the soon to launch Siswoo R9 Darkmoon and Oukitel U6 devices which sports / will sport two displays.

That being said, UMi has released a new teaser, and it popped up in Russia. The teaser basically touts a really capable camera on this smartphone, and our source at the company has provided some additional information as far as these sensors go. The 20-megapixel snapper will be available on the back of the UMi Zero 2, while the 8-megapixel shooter will be located up front. We still don’t know which sensors exactly will UMi use, but we might find out soon. It is also worth mentioning that the LED flash will be available on the front as well, which will come in handy if you like to take selfies and what not.

There you have it folks, some more info on the UMi Zero 2. We’re sure more info will leak in the coming weeks, but by the looks of it, this might even be a high(er) end device. It is certainly nice to hear that UMi plans to include a 20-megapixel rear-facing snapper here (hopefully the camera software will be up to par), let’s wait and see what else will be included in this package.

Edited by peter at 2015-8-4 18:36 \n\nI thought 1/9 was a reference to the launch date in some of the screen promo photos.
ALSO.... The camera above, although somewhat meaty looking, it's probably just a close up shot inside the outside protrusion, all the other photos thus far are a sticky out camera (because it looks pretty cool otherwise if this is on the outside of the phone). Reminds me of how actuall camera lenses work catching dust in the black rings. Perhaps it is this design and this is the black version (e-ing might be better in white). Being e-ink, its going to need to be white.
I do like that fact that there is some protection over the lens due to the sides in the pic above. Hopefully an equally well designed flip cover or something better (porcelain back or whatever) will be available if this turns out not to be the case and other stick out lens are true... Well at least cover it in saphire glass or something

And please, lets hope its gets NFC at least and perhaps wireless charging. In fact, its a killer flagship, lets hope it comes with EVERYTHING, Like a Calibre license or something. Not to forget hifi sound. Can't wait for this phone.
