This is the SP Flash Tool + OTA release of the
V1.0_20180402 system software
for UMIDIGI S2 Lite
Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!
UMIDIGI S2 Lite receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

Changelog:
  • Video playback bugs fixed

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SP Flash Tool
Resources:

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6750T_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 already automatically can install it or you can use this: MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI S2 Lite if the standard method doesn't work.
It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop
1. Connect your UMIDIGI S2 Lite to USB.
2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.
3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.
4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OTA (recovery) update
Manual (local) OTA update method instructions
  • Copy the downloaded .zip file to the internal memory of your phone
  • Go to Settings --> About phone --> System update
  • Tap the 3-dot menu button in the top right corner and select Local Updates
  • Brows for the ...update.zip file and select it
  • Select Restart now. Your phone reboots into recovery, the update gets installed, then your phone boots into Android. Your updated system is ready to use.

Update file for manual OTA update: >>>>> UMIDIGI_S2_LITE_V1.0_20180402_update.zip <<<<< It can update version 20180303 only

Optional method (in case if the manual OTA update gets stuck): Install from recovery
You need a microSD card (with at least 4GB capacity) installed in your phone!
  • Copy the ...update.zip file to your SD card.
  • Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts in the boot selector mode. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less if your phone was already powered off.
  • Here you can move with the vol-up button and select an item with vol-down. Select Recovery.
  • Your phone boots into Recovery and you see a lying android figure with an exclamation mark in red triangle on its tummy.
  • Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to call the recovery menu. Now you can move with the volume buttons and select an item with the power button.
  • Move to ‘Apply update from SD card’ and select it.
  • On the next screen brows for the update file and select it. The updating process will start and needs a few minutes to be finished.
  • After a succcessful installation you can read the ''Install from sdcard complete'' message and the receovery menu is available again.
  • Select 'Reboot system now'. Alternatively you can perform a factory data reset here by choosing 'Wipe data/factory reset'

Kind request from users:
Please report any kind of new issues you experience after installing this update only if you've already flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. In rare cases a FOTA update can cause more or less serious malfunctions but that means only the update process went wrong, not a badly developed ROM. An updated stock ROM, especially related to the basic functions will not cause any new issues but will solve some of the existing ones.

Hello,

After the last update, the situation is the following;

Movies are performing much better
The youtube starts in 480 resolution rarely starts in 720 p.

The gsm signal is still weak on sim 1.

The bluetooth connection is very difficult and disconnects quite quickly.

Is there a Volte connection on sim1?

Very nice from you to fix the issues and send the update, I look forward to the Android 8 update, there may be changes to the 3g connection indicators, 4g indicator pointers, you can also update the camera with the HDR input.

Good luck in the future...

And I hope the next update will fix some of my problems, especially the problem with the 3g and 4g icons, I would like to disappear or be smaller as I psychically destroy when I see them on the screen.
Fix the problem with bluetooth, the problem with the Gsm signal for sim1, to enter more camera options.
You need a more thorough check of the operating system to be more stable.
It's a shame to make beautiful phones, powerful batteries, use quality screens if you do not get more involved in the system and the interface.
I know it is a very expensive research and implementation center of the system, but you do not just make quantity and not quality. Shame for your products so good and tastefully designed if we are not working for the future and just for the present ..

Network band icons are part of android system. This might change in Android 8.We don't have issues with SIM 1 signal. Please check sim card, swap to slot 2 and test. In you experience issue only on slot 1 you have hardware fault and you should contact to seller for warranty solution.

Please try download OTA again. If doesn't work you can download from this thread complet OTA zip file and update as local update.
If still doesn't working you can use SPFT and uncheck user data to protect your data or perform factory reset and update as through to OTA or OTA zip file.

Hi,
Maybe it will be postpopned until June due to Google's new and very strict GMS certification policy. Unfortunately, currently I can't tell you the exact date.
