You don't have to press any button on the phone. Do you mean, you can't even connect your phone in preloader mode? Then how could you flaash it with the flash tool? After switching into meta mode (the boot logo appears), you might need to disconnect and reconnect your phone but the preloader mode at the beginning should not cause any issue.

I can use the SP tool but no matter what I do it doesnt work. If I plug it in pressing no buttons it just goes to the battery charging. It says connected to phone then says the Wait Soter message and I ran it for 30 minutes, it just doesnt work

How long should it take? If i unplug the phone with it turned off, then run the software and plug it in it says phone connect then goes to Wait Soter and just continues to run.
The log file if opened displays the below continuously

Once boot your phone normally into android, power it off normally (not forcing with long press power button), then try again.

And what about the SN Writer Tool? Can you use it? That tool also works in meta mode.

You also need the SN Writer to recover your original IMEI numbers.
Try to replace the preloader com port driver, maybe you have an outdated version installed. Your computer should be connected to the internet.
1. Open your Windows device manager.
2. Connect your powered off phone to USB and as soon as the preloader com port pops up in the device list, right click on it and remove the device together with its driver. You must be quick with your right click.
3. Disconnect and reconnect your phone to let the new drivers get installed.
4. Disconnect your phone and try again to use the activation tool.
