This is the SP Flash Tool version of the
V3.03_20170504 firmware
for UMi London

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!
UMi London receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.
This one is an update under the new brand name 'UMIDIGI' and it won't be available via FOTA update (due to the brand change), you can flash it only with SP Flash Tool.

UMIDIGI London is not a different model, it's just a new brand. You can update your UMi London smartphone with this ROM without risking its usability and without voiding your warranty. It is an official update for UMi London.

If you are updating an earlier version, it is recommended to flash this ROM as 'Firmware Upgrade'!

Changelog:
  • New screen type added

Resources:

Flashtool tutorials: UMI Forum or androidxda guide or YouTube guide (you can google a lot of other solutions and guides)

>>>>> ROM: w370_dj198010b_wcdma_20170504_songlixin_PC.rar<<<<< - Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6580_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other elements

SPFT: SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1712.rar (use this one instead of the old version linked in the UMI forum guide)

VCOM driver: Windows 10 already automatically can install it or you can use this: MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMI London if the standard method doesn't work.
It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop
1. Connect your UMI London to USB.
2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.
3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.
4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

I gave up and installed Android 7.1 from 4pda forum, because I got tired of the phone periodically downloading and installing adware apk's without my permission because of infected SystemUI.apk as I later found out (and you can't uninstall it even when rooted, because it is system core apk).

So far everything is working fine and now I am happy Android 7 nougat user

This ROM is not for your screen. Why have you flashed it?  Post time 2017-5-16 08:33

This update is meant to support new screens only. Don't install it on an older device. Update your phone only via OTG.

If OTG is not working (rooted device, uninstalled system apps, etc.), there is no other way? Only to install older official firmware, then wait for OTG to update? I would rather avoid that if possible.

OTA updates never work on rooted devices, so yes, you have to install a flash tool ROM. Theoretically I share the flash tool releases of all available updates here, so maybe a newer version is not available, not even via OTA.
